The person behind the white coat

Professor Tarek Hassan is a leading pediatric surgeon based in Cairo, Egypt. His international surgical training in the '80s took place at Centre Hospitalier Universitaire en France (CHRU de Brest). Since then, Prof. Tarek Hassan advanced accreditation includes Fellowship of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons (FRCS) of Edinburgh, the UK, as well as Doctorate of Medicine from Ain Shams University (ASU), Cairo Egypt.

In addition to lecturing at ASU, he also conducts highly specialised pediatric gastrointestinal and urological procedures at the ASU Medical Hospitals and Nasr City Health Insurance Hospital as well as leading private medical institutions in Heliopolis and New Cairo regions.

During his extensive career, Prof. Tarek Hassan has chaired, organized and presented lectures at multiple international pediatric surgical conferences. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed scientific papers and continues to oversee master's and doctorate thesis and examinations for postgraduate students in pediatric surgery across Egypt.

He has served on numerous boards, including the Committee for Pediatric Surgery for the Supreme Council of Universities in Egypt.

In his free time, he enjoys training for upcoming championships with his peers in Masters Swimming Team for the Heliopolis Sporting Club.
